The High School Spelling Bee is a program designed for past Scripps National Spelling Bee contestants to be able to continue their spelling careers into high school. Anyone who has participated in the Scripps Nationals at least once (even past champions!) and is in 9th-12th grade is eligible to participate.

Since we don't want to have to deal with travel for spellers scattered far and wide, the High School Spelling Bee (HSSB) will be hosted online over Tinychat, which accommodates up to 12 webcam broadcasts and 400 text chat participants at once. (Spellers will be sent more information and guidelines after signup.)

The 2011 High School Spelling Bee was held April 2nd, 2011 at 7:00 PM Eastern Time.
